What is the Difference between a flower "essence" and a flower "remedy"?
The products, if made according to the method of Edward Bach to the ready to consume dilution, should be the same. However, these same products in different countries or marketed under different regulatory regimes within the same country (for example under food or medicine laws), must be described differently either as essences or remedies. In the UK Balancing Blooms® are regulated as food and are therefore described as essences

The liquid is clear, whereas retail brandy is coloured?
We use the very best quality French brandy from the cognac region into which to mix our flower essences. The brandy matures in oak casks, just as retail brandy does, but we don't add caramel, as the standard retail brandy producers do. This gives our products a fruitier taste and more natural appearance that we prefer. Whilst Edward Bach usually used brandy as the natural preservative in his essences, he also used vodka and vinegar as naturally preserving liquids. So the type of brandy does not affect the flower essences.
